First introduced in 1967 as the world’s first modern bullion coin, the Krugerrand is recognised globally for its enduring design. The obverse features the portrait of Paul Kruger, former President of the South African Republic, while the reverse showcases the elegant Springbok antelope, a national symbol of South Africa known for its grace and speed.
