Britannia first appeared on the coins of the Emperor Hadrian over 2,000 years ago. quarter ounce of 999.9 fine gold (24 carat). These are ideal bullion coin for British investors because they are exempt of Capital Gains Tax and VAT Free.

The quarter ounce Britannia gold coin is made of 24-carat gold (999.9 fineness).

The Britannia ranges boasts four new special security features, including a trident hologram which changes to a padlock when the coin is tilted. Other features include new detailing to Britannia’s shield, a second inner circle of Latin text, and a micro-detail wave effect in the coin’s background.

This bullion coin has a face value of £25.00. Due to their status as British Legal tender they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt). This coin contains one-quarter troy ounce (7.77 grams) of fine gold. This coin is 99.99% (24 carat) gold.

Bullion coins from The Royal Mint since 2015 feature the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the King George IV State Diadem (worn for the annual State Opening of Parliament) and Diamond Jubilee drop pearl earrings.
