The design on the reverse of the 2025 gold Britannia 1/4oz coin features the classic image of Lady Britannia, with the updated security features that makes the Britannia one of the most secure coins in the world. The obverse of the coin features the official effigy of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.

The Britannia is the official gold bullion coin of the UK, and the 2025 gold Britannia quarter ounce coin is a great choice for UK investors. The smaller size makes it a popular choice for investing on a budget. With a £25 face value it is a legal tender coin in the UK making it exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) in addition to being VAT-free.

The 2025 quarter ounce Britannia gold coin is made of 24-carat gold (999.9 fineness).

The new 2025 Britannia ranges boasts four new special security features, including a trident hologram which changes to a padlock when the coin is tilted. Other features include new detailing to Britannia’s shield, a second inner circle of Latin text, and a micro-detail wave effect in the coin’s background.

Due to their status as British Legal tender they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt). This coin contains one-quarter troy ounce (7.77 grams) of fine gold. This coin is 99.99% (24 carat) gold.
